Angry Tonight I got hit on the way home...

I was hit!!! I couldnt freaking believe it, not my first time in an accident but the crazy part was she RAN RAN RAN....

So there I was making a right hand turn at an intersection, I pull up to the line and almost go, but a car turned into the lane I was about to pull into, so l did not go, and hit the brake instead.

The dumbass little girl behind me in the red camry decides I am not there any more and whacks me at 10MPH or so. I look in my rear view mirror and give her the WTF look and shrug, then I point over to a parking lot 20 feet away and pull into it.

She looks over into the parking lot and pulls around like she is going to head over (exchange of insurance and such), but instead of pulling into the parking lot, she guns her car and heads out of sight as fast as possible. I am already in the lot looking at the back of my car when I see this, of course I can't freaking believe it, and before I think to get her license plate another car is already occluding my view.

So looking at the back of my car, there is no damage what-so-ever, so instead of going Starsky and Hutch on her and chase her *** down while I call the cops, I take a really hard close look at my back bumper to see if there is even a scratch to the paint. I see nothing at all.

So moral of the story, I got lucky, and people suck.:D

I would have put on the hazards and gotten out. I also would have stayed in the car until she was next to me. You got lucky.

You should still get the car examined. There have been several posts over on the Evo forums of people getting hit at low speeds from behind. Often there is no apparent damage, but closer inspection reveals damage to the frame of the car. At the very least, crawl under it and check your frame. Also consider lifting up some carpet in the trunk. Often the bodywork right behind the bumper cap will be damaged even if the cap itself was not.

Look at the black plastic down around the tail pipes, they tend to crack easily.

Oh, and I have chased a guy down for doing something similar, he backed into me, got out, was drunk, his car was really damaged, not sure what kind of car it was, probably a kit, it was fiberglass, said Cobra, looked like a 50's Corvette, and was RHD.

I chased him down found out where he lived and called the cops.
That was the day I was driving in to get my 8. It really didn't damage my car so the cop said if they give me a problem with trade in, they'll do something, other than that he wasn't.
Cops are lazy, vigilante justice.

I gave my car the full "once over" again... no damage. I guess I would need to parked next to another 8 to make sure all the seams are still perfectly straight, but it look like the most they may have moved is less than a millimeter, but it might have been slightly askew the entire time. Underneath the car and in the trunk everything looks fine, once again would have to compare to another 8 to be sure.

Must have been a perfectly flush bump with her bumper, because the hit did jolt me a bit enough to make my seatbelt tighten.

You must always get out of the car where the accident occurs. Don't give a DAMN about the traffic, and NEVER try to find parking lots. Imagine a case where both drivers claim that it was the other ones fault, then what? The police must see exactly how the cars crushed and then tell whose fault was it.

Oh, and always chase down a run-away person. It gives you a good reason to drive your car in a Hollywood-style :D :D car chase :p

Thanks for the offers all, I went down the brewers-fest yesterday and parked next to another eight in a parking garage. Once again, it all looked good.

Stupid Concrete truck on mo-pac flinging chunks of rock every where is another story, I swear... bad weekend for the eight, thank god for touch up paint, small scratch next to the right headlight.
