Be thankful we have an rx8!

Everyone should buy there 8 something nice for Christmas.
Gas prices are already a gift from above and all of us will give up a couple bucks to drive it like we stole it once in a while.
I have been without mine due to an accident and the dealer taking there sweet *** time to fix it.
So here's the point of my thread the rental company gave me a 2015 Toyota Corolla S. This is a four door, four banger trying to be a sports car. Where we have a real sports car that just happens to have 4 doors.
This car is a joke, fun factor is 2/10 and there is one at every corner.
They even make a feeble attempt to make it faster with the sport button that increases the rpm's by 500.
And paddle shifters that are even slower than ours and you have to shift 2500 rpm sooner ha ha!
I can't wait to get mine back, I have more fun driving it than both my 7's (except sunny days when the top on my vert can be down).

Be thankful for your 8,and all the other good things in your life!

Happy Holidays everyone and thanks for all of the useful information.

I had a rental camry last Sept. and I can't stand it..
When I got home, I called the rental company to change car.
The next day i picked up a 2014 corolla..what a BORING car...my friend's 2008 civic is way better..

I'm thankful for mine every time I drive it.
After driving a pickup for years before getting mine, I really appreciate the finer points of it.

I had to sell my first rx8 in 2011 because we had a kid on the way. Dumbest thing I ever did... spent the last three years regretting it, and finally just bought an R3 with 12,500 miles on it. It feels great to be back in an rx8... I missed it!

I've always had an rx7 still have 2, but my 8 is way more comfortable and fun to drive any long distance. Just little things like cup holders and the power heated seat are missed now that I've had them and now don't.
Hopefully that is my Christmas present the dealer will call and tell me it's ready.

I had a Black 09 R3 that I gave up in 2011 for a family SUV. I have regretted it ever since. Just picked up a red 2010 R3 with 57000 miles on it. It was flawless except for a small worn spot on the seat. Great to be back in an 8. Man, I've missed it.

They gave me a rental mazda 3 sedan when my 8 was in the shop a few months ago. What a pile of doggie doo that car was in comparison...

This thread makes me want to do something nice for my 8 today. Maybe I'll take it down to Costco to fill it up and give it a bottle of Techron.

Our 8's are headturners I still have people ask what kind of car is that. There wasn't that many sold here in the U.S. compared to number of people. A large number of 04-05's were lost due to engine failure, and even more due to poor maintenance and not giving it hell here and there to blow out the carbon.
I love the fact in my area I know of 2 others and one is my brother.

I am thankful I got the rotary bug 25 years ago when I got my first 80' rx7.
I'm just going to go out on a limb and say this won't be my only 8, I'm looking at a 10' R3, considering just selling my FD(fast but seems so small inside now) to make this purchase wife said do it if I want.
Thank You Mr. Wankel you have brought many hours of enjoyment to my life!

I did buy my 8 something nice, some Weather Tech floor mats. The wife got me the trunk liner with the rx8 logo made into it stock I think but pretty cool. Actually amazed she picked it out on her own wasn't on my list.
Now if I could just get my car back from the dealer it's been a month!

Happy Holidays everyone......

Yeah I stare at the pump prices each time I fill up. Makes me feel like I'm in high shool again. I've pampered my Rx-8 this holiday: New fuel pump, AFM, and new 280 tread wear tires.

I'm not 50 yet but getting there, I've had the rotary bug for a long time. Bought my first rx7 in 1988 and had at least one ever since.
I was always one the fence about getting an 8 till I test drove a few. Some people hate the AT but myself I love it. Both my rx 7's are manual and they suck in stop and go.

Search eBay for trunk liner to see a pic that's where I got it. I can't upload any pics from mobile app for some reason or its not possible.

After almost six weeks and $3900 in damage the dealer called and said I should have mine back by the end of the week oh I can't wait. I'm really tired of the rental there were 3 of the exact same car within a 100 feet of each other at the store the other night.
I've never seen that many 8's in my city in a month!

So I got my car back today and I'm very thankful I still have it. After 8 weeks and $6,002 total in parts and labor.
That's no joke the dealer got into it intial estimated $3500. They could not get the airbag light to go off and had to replace right curtain, drivers(never deployed) and passenger seat airbag.
Plus a couple sensors and seatbelts assembly.
If the insurance company would of known it was going to be $6k to fix a $7k car they would of totaled it and that would of sucked.
I'm oh so happy to have it back in the garage and got new rims out the deal bonus!

After a good test drive yesterday it is going back to the dealer. You would of thought in 8 weeks they should of got it right. There is a noticeable vibration at any speed, even worse over 45mph in right front where it took most of the impact when I hit the curb. New rim and tire so I can rule them out. And now I have an exhaust leak that was non existent when it was taken there.
I'm guessing they had the exhaust apart somewhere to replace all of the damaged suspension parts.

So far Basney Mazda hasn't made any friends!

I had to sell my 8 in order to buy a new house and we couldnt afford the extra car atm. I feel sad when i see an 8 flying bye and seeing the smile on the 8`s drivers face. Sure the RX 8 has its issues to say the least, but its a very unique car and it is just fun to drive.

My wife probably thinks I'm the kindest person in the world, I offer all the time to go out and get things just to drive my 8 since I got it!

I'm going to sell my FD and keep my vert 7(for sunny days).

I have no need for all 3, after buying my 8 it's the most fun to drive by far.....

Apparently the love for cars starts young. I recently got a reasonable offer for my Rx7 convertible, told my 6 year old I might sell it and he had a tear roll down his cheek. So that's no longer an option!
He said he likes the 8 also but not his favorite because the top doesn't go down.
