Angry Stupid snapping clutch pedal

Sorry guys, just had to vent. 2004 RX8 60,000 miles on it, driving at around 40 mph try to shift into 3rd and boom clutch snaps! This is a thread for people to vent if it's happened to them, what did you guys do??? I filed a complaint with the highway transportation something something and they said it's been under investigation since september... So for those of you who have had this happen call it in and lets speed up the process, cause apparently its a decent problem. Towed to the shop, lets see if Mazda wants me to pay for it.

there's already a giant thread for this.
Mazda will most likely NOT cover this under warranty, most people have had to pay for their own repairs.

i'm waiting for my pedal reinforcement to come in... aiming to get mine weld and bracket reinforced soon. i'm feeling a bit uneasy with the very slight wiggle on my clutch right now. hoping it won't be a pain to remove and re-install. good luck and hope yours get sorted out!

My clutch pedal broke last yr, Mazda paid for parts, I paid for labor. Dumb I know, since them paying for the part is basically admitting the part failed. I argued and argued, but that was as far as I could get. I'll def. report it to the hwy trans. comm. My indy shop knows all about this now as I was in getting new tires and they had an 8 in...I was asking about it, they said clutch issues, but clutch looks fine. I told them to check the pedal and bam...broken pedal too! They told the owner to report it as well.

After reading the giant thread Jedi talked about, I removed my clutch pedal months ago and had it rewelded. No problems yet! Damn spot welds...

Sucks to hear, sometimes the dealership takes car of it sometimes they don't.

Some get a new pedal and move on others have the new one welded and then some get the bracket system we sell.

The bracket system can be used on a broken assembly it has been able to make it work like new again 99.9% of the time depending on if the pedal itself has been flexed too much.

We have the bracket system here http://raceroots.com/index.php/produ...cessories.html
