Stereo panel stays illuminated? **update with pic**
I tried a search but couldn't find anything, so either no one has had this problem or i'm using different words.
But the Stereo panel in my 04 GT stays illuminated (every single possible light) when i turn on the car. (Sometimes it starts normal and stays normal, other times it returns to normal after about 10 minutes).
Know what I mean? So instead of seeing the radio station i'm on, each of the blocks is lit up. The time says 8888, temp 88, etc.

Reason: pic update
It stays like this most of the entire drive (15-20minutes)... sometimes it goes normal again.
Last night when i turned off the car to take a pic (leaving in the ACC position), i put the window up, noticing a dim of the lighting slightly being able to see what's supposed to be there. With both windows up and pulling up on both window switches, it dimmed even more - though the effect of lights was still there.
So i'm not sure what the problem would be exactly.... a fuse providing too much voltage to the illumination wire? faulty equipment?
I know this does not help you out, but should the fan intensity icon in the stereo panel light up? Since I got mine it has never lit up and I just figured it was because they used a generic panel for all their cars and some use it while other models dont.
the dimming of the lights when you pull both window switches with the windows up is normal. my 8 did it, and all the other previous vehicles i've owned did it. i'm guessing the motor has a high current draw.
I'd take it to the dealer. Sounds like a bad display in both threads.

I'm actually in the same boat as you (not meaning to take over this thread with a different issue). Good to hear I'm not alone.
