Spark Plugs RX7

Hi guys
i wanna get rx7 spark plugs and put in my 8
but i heard they re bigger so
How much longer r they?
what can i use as a spacer?

Yep, use those rx7plugs that's what I did!

You must use a spacer or you will do damage.

If you buy them from mazsport they come with shims already attached

You only need a spacer for the trailing plugs (which don't make power so there is no need to change them unless you are using a non stock PCM).

The leading plugs you can use without any sort of spacer, as the crush washer on the spark plug spaces it out far enough.

But I don't get why anyone would want to change them to RX-7 plugs. The spark gap on a RX-7 plug is only .032 or so... considerably smaller than the .048 of the stock leading plugs on the RX-8.

Smaller gap = less spark

Less spark = less mileage
Less spark = less power

The only reason to use a RX-7 plug in the RX-8 is because you are too cheap to buy the correct plug for the car.

You can use the plugs if you REALLY want, but I'd say stay with what comes with the 8...they are there for a reason.

What's wrong with using the recommended spark plugs for the RX8? What is the benefit of using RX7 sparkplugs?

I guess he could have about 30 extra RX7 spark plugs and doesn't want to spend more money...?

The one and only benefit from using the RX-7 plugs is that they cost only $5 -$10 each vs $20 each for the correct RX-8 spark plug.
