NJ Soooooo goooooood

my parents just recently blessed me with the purchase of an 09 RX8 R3 and I just got home from a good long drive through and around my town and i must say i am madly in love. I have never driven a car that is so much fun and handles so well. i can't stop smiling. So i thought i'd say hello to everyone and say thanks to everybody for all the helpful information on here

I don't store my 8. Entering my 5th New England winter with it.

The only car I've had more fun with in the snow was my Miata, but it's engine is blown, so back to the 8. My boss has finally stopped giving me crap about "all the trouble I'm going to have with a low slung RWD sports car in winter"

Salt doesn't bother me nearly as much any more, as it was properly protected from the start. I've had numerous people comment on how shockingly little rust is present on my 8's underside/body given that treatment. Pretty much just isolated to my exhaust.

^What'd you do to treat the underside? We use sand here now, since it's not as corrosive as salt, but I still want to give it some protection anyway.

I didn't actually. But I bought it used at 8,600 miles, the prior owner apparently being wealthy enough to shrug off a depreciation hit for the 13 months and 8,600 miles of driving, that when he traded it in for a Mercedes that the Mercedes dealer was able to price it ($32k MSRP) at $19,000 and still make a profit.

So I'm guessing whatever he did wasn't skimping.

No way man, I grew up at Hot Dog Johnny's - I also lived in the Liberty, Independence, area. That's pretty sweet.

I have my 8 for the winter, but I also have to two garages to store it in.

I'll definitely hit you up on a Johnny's run.
