Angry So my Rx8's enigne flooded last night

Turned it on last night and it shut right off! then refused to turn on at all last night or today. a tow is coming tonight This is my first real problem with it and all because I got lazy/was late for a doctors appointment and had to move my car down the street. >:P When they tell you to make sure you let your car warm up before turning it of, they were right. Well I'm glad I've been doing it before and it happened when it did cause it was annoying but not too inconvenient. ...pooey.......

I've turned my car off a few times without letting it warm up and not doing the Rev to 3k trick, I guess I'm just extremely lucky, or my 8 has cognitive thought and prevents itself from flooding because it loves me so much.

Keep us posted on how that turns out!

Yeah, actually during the summer I was able to get away with it too but I started making sure I warmed it up every time before it started to get cold. And what the is the 3k trick? I be very happy to know a way to not flood my engine but not have to drive around the block in a freezing cold car at 2 am just to move it down the street.
Status: Last night my car got towed and if you've never had to emergency jack or tow your 8, I found the eyelets. Had no clue where they where we searched for like half an hour and my trunk was full of crap. (it's stuck in the plastic crease beneath the black bar in the farthest back part of the trunk((back of the car not the trunk)) it pulls open) I had no idea. >.< anyway it shoul be at mazda by now and my adviser will call me.

I know, I did try it I've read practically my entire owners manual. It didn't work, it doesn't always work in fact if you try it too much it will flood it worse and warrenty might decide not to cover it. And as for the cost of the tow truck, there is none. There's no way they can cheat me out of anything cause 1) the car is still under warranty and towing for warranty repair is always covered if the car won't drive because of it and 2) I work in the service department of a car dealership and I've seen it all just with a Volkswagen and if they try anything I can just run to the service advisers here and get advice.

and as for the link, I know about flooring, I know about the fuel pump fuse, but it's just too damn cold outside and it was free anyway so why do the work myself. plus now I don't have to drive n hour to drop the car off to get my tail light replaced. I only gotta drive it back.

Seems to be something with the ATs. I have a friend that has an AT and always backs it out of the driveway to wash it, moves it because it's in the way or whatever and shuts it off right away. Hasn't flooded yet, he's had for six or seven months.

Or you could just give her a massage and she'll warm up to you and won't flood...Like mine!

That presents a rather frightening picture.

btw, I have an AT. I think it had to do with the fact that it was below freezing all day. And as for moving it down the driveway, I think in the heat it does fine unless your friend is like my boyfriend and will wash his car in close to freezing temps. (nice tip: hot water works well to wash the car in cold weather but drying it will numb your hands off! >.<)

new engine is not a bad thing, especially if the old one is as screwed up as they told you...

rosenthal mazda nissan in tysons corner. I've never been there but the previous owner of my car I think had it serviced there. They seem trust worthy and explin things on terms I understand... without acting like I'm just an idiot girl with a sports car. :P
