Is there any difference in the 4port motor blocks for the RX8 or can any year "4port engine" be interchanged? I read they did omp changes, front cover changes etc but are the engine blocks all the same?

Every Auto RX-8 in the U.S. from 2006+ is a 6 port/6 speed auto and the 6 port auto from 2009+ is different from the 2006-2008 6 port auto in terms of the engine and trans.

any option to get the six port from a six port/6 speed auto car? It would perform much better than the four port.

I am not sure but I would guess that the 4 port manual and 4 port automatic engine are different in a couple of ways but I am not certain, I would call a rotary shop that deals with RX-8's there. You can PM Brettus, he is from new Zealand and might know.

He would need the engine harness and ECU from a 6 port auto to do that swap. If that is even available on the JDM cars, which is what New Zealand gets.

The Irony is your Quote saying {"Clean is the new cool, so let’s keep it that way."} Yet most people would say RX8 design is the most cluttered looking car out there.
Just the Tail light of the car look busier than a Bang-Kok traffic.

I think you have the wrong description of what clean means.

Personally I would go for the S2 for reliability's sake.
1v1 in the straight the S2 should be just as fast, if not a bit faster since it's now newer and has a lower final drive ratio. But around a track and corners, the S2 is noticeably faster,
Tuning is now available for the s2!!!! Look up versa tuner.

It's not the most advanced software out there, but as far as I know it's the only option for the s2.
they only have 2 base maps out right now "valet" and "economizer". Anything further, you have to do your self, or get custom tuned. But it's at least a start. Plus you can run a catless mid pipe without the CEL

I was getting psyched about swaping my Rew engine into a cheap Rx8 roller with all the readily available bolt on parts and Adaptronic PnP and getting it done in a couple months lol before the ball sweating heat and humidity return in FL, who else had done the Rew swap and what was your time frame like, good thread and videos tho keep up the good work.
