rx8 Height Limit

So I Finally let my GF drive my car for a bit (I was in a good mood), and so I found a nice safe street, so on. Then I turn the car off...... I go around... and she sits on the drivers seat.

Note: She's only driven a manual car like 10 times her whole life. and it was some Toyota or something.... so shes not 100% on Manual cars.

So she pulls the chair as far up as it could go... (Looked Funny as ****)

Then she turns the key........ and the car doesn't start....

Romeo:"Baby, you got to press the clutch in when you start it"
(oh god...)

GF:"I am pressing it in!"

Romeo: "......... you sure?"

GF:"wait....... all the way in?!"

Romeo:"Yeah......."

GF:" ......."

Romeo:" ???...."

GF: " I cant reach the clutch all the way in "

so yeah, after laughing for a couple of mins, she ended up not driving it after all.

Conclusion: ok, so shes about........ 5 foot. or 5 foot 1 inch. and she couldn't reach the pedal.

It makes me think....

The height limit to drive the rx8 (at the closest you can sit) would probably be 5 foot 2 inches or so.

knowledge for the brain.

First off, funny story man. Nice it didn't end with insurance claims. I've taught a bunch of people to drive stick and if it ended without damages, it was a good day.

Well, I mean she could've scooted without leaning on the lumbar, no?

yeah, she could have. but then the seatbelt would have pushed her back (or my turbo would have, haha). So I rather her sit right.

bleh. Either way, No damage to my car/ clutch is good enough for me :D

Well, I'm 5'4 on a really *good* day, with short stubby legs that make it hard for me to find a motorcycle that fits me, and I'm able to clutch it all the way, although I do have to have the seat pretty far forward, and I do have it low. I'll be interested to hear if she can reach it with the seat lowered...

Yeah, my gf is 5'3" and she can reach pretty good. And drive it pretty good for a first timer. Now she's dying to drive it with the new clutch...

Dunno, see how that goes.

Good story btw, lol.

My sister is 5'1" and she drove mine a couple of times. She does have freakishly long legs though.

I'm 5'4" and I don't think all 3 of those extra inches are in my legs. I have the seat up and almost all the way forward and am fine. Now if you have the seat tilted back she may not have been able to touch the carpet...

Excellent pics. Very lucky man, especially if you at all resemble your avatar. One thing I'll say about being short; you have to have a power seat and it takes about 10 minutes to figure out how to be able to hit the clutch and see over the steering wheel at the same time. My wife is 5'10" and I think our next cars are going to need the seat memory presets.

IVE TOLD HER!!!

I just got my black OEM wheels, they look hot, so my car is looking sexy right now.
I'll have her model for me.

my ex GF was a model and she was all for it, but this one is Shy when it comes to things like that.

At SS9, some asian dudes with cameras (making a SS9 Video) recorderd her and her GFs saying, "I WAS AT SEVEN STOCK 9!! WOOOOOO!!" and she was all for it.

Shes only shy when it comes to doing **** on her own.

i'll have to take pics of her and my car on a personal level, probably up in the mountains.

thanks for the compliments, guys.

My girlfriend is 5'7" and she does not like the clutch either, but she can still drive my car. She complained of the same thing, difficulty of having to push the clutch all the way down while finding a comfortable driving position.

I taught her how to shift without having to do that so she only has to put it down when starting the car. No need for full clutch depress when shifting.

Of course she also went to kart racing school with me and used to drive a RX-7.
