Dose a Rx8 take special antifreeze or can you just put any kind in it?

Green is good....just don't want to mix green and red/orange...it will sometimes turn into sludge :-(

FL22, or similar, O'Reilly's has Beck-Arnley FL22 compliant.

I did a ton of research on this & you can look up the thread. It was intensely technical & detailed.

So, let me save you much time, energy, and aggravation: Zerex for Asian Vehicles, Beck-Arnley, FL22 at Mazda, Peak Global LIFETIME (NOT Universal)...

..they will all work. Get the cheapest one (the Zerex for Asian Vehicles) in full strength (not prediluted 50/50), make sure you flush your old coolant completely, and have it.

I am among the opinion that even the dreaded "All Makes/All Models" Prestone is fine to use in the 8, because it is silicate free, because the 8 does NOT have problematic gaskets/hoses, etc.

Just make sure to use distilled water when you mix and fill your new coolant.

It's far more important to run clean coolant in the 8, that's relatively fresh & not acidic, in the proper water-to-coolant ratio (I stick with 50/50 in Michigan, than the particular type of coolant, IMO (with a few exceptions, such as not using old green silicate or European formulated specialty complaints or Dexcool type coolants if you haven't gotten 100% of your old coolant out - so don't even do this).

Another option is this: RAVENOL HJC - Protect FL22 Concentrate
It is made in Germany and it is fairly cheap.
