RX8 advice! Help me please

I got the 2007 mazda rx8 auto transmission (wrecked) for 1.8 grand as for my first car, and I am REALLY into tuning and customizing but unfortunantley I cannot afford a turbo or big engine upgrades for the car, I want to put a turboxs exhaust kit, cold air intake, carbon fiber hood, full body kit, I might change the stock rims, carbon fiber trunk and also lower my car a little, do you guys think this would be rice? And is buying parts off ebay risky? Or is there better sites to buy those parts.. please dont hate im new to the tuning world and I need all the advice I can get! Thanks!

everything you enumerated would probably cost more than a turbo. A full body kit, painted, will cost you over 2500 depending on which quality you get. Plus all the other stuff you wanna put in. I would just get a turbo and an exhaust.

Personnally I buy my parts on ebay. I bought brakes, shocks, coils, plugs and wires. People will tell you to stay away from ebay parts but so far so good for me.

Good luck with the mods! Start off with intake and exhaust and work your way up

There is soooo much mis-information in this post I can't believe it. So I'm assuming this was posted with sarcasm.

I'm in a good mood ... coffee high I suppose <shrug>

You're talking 7000 to 10,000 for a modest turbo build.
5000 is you do a major major cheap out build.

The Ebay thing is hit or miss IMO, I try to stay away from from it however I have bought some nice stuff from Ebay.

How far along are you with the body work to get it on the road?

If you want a car you can tune for not much money, buy a Civic. If you read any of the posts on this site you will realize that the RX8 is about as tuned as it can get right out of the factory. You won't see much power increase from anything other than FI, and then you're looking at a ton of money and work. There are not a lot of "bolt on" turbo kits; Anything you do in terms of FI will take a lot of custom work.

Seriously kid, slow down and use some punctuation.

Some personal advice: If you put $10k into your car, it will still be a (salvage title?) $1,800 car. Get your body repaired, and use the rest to mod your bank account. Save it so that you can buy your next Mazda in good condition.

I will just do body work and put an exhaust, the thing is the mileage on that car is low (39k) so that's why I was wondering about the engine tuning.. Thanks for all the advice! This is a good community I don't regret signing up here.
