There is only one way the calamari wins this one: the race takes place at sea BEFORE the squid gets battered and fried. Have any of you seen the 1/4 mile times on a plate of squid? Abysmal. Absolutely abysmal.

Obviously no one has thought about their responses. Allow me to inlighten you all.
you see, the only realistic way they could be raced is in space, because the squid would obviously die out of the water, and an underwater tube to house the mazda is just ridiculous.
Also, one would have a home advantage on the other one in those locations.
So, we go to the moon and set up a track, and let 'em loose.
The squid would die, and the mazda's engine would be unable to start, giving them both equal lap times, making them equal in all people's minds including my own.
Or if you insist that any land is a home advantage for mazda, we just take them to the middle of space and let 'em loose, whoever manages to drift the fastest is the victor.
Either way the squid is cheaper.
unless you happen to be talking about the famed electric golden squid of lore...
...but thats just silly.
