RX-8 nomenclature? FE?

So anyone know if the RX-8 is going to be an FE3S? Or is mazda going to do something wacky and not follow that convention?

My first post!

Anyways, I think that the label "FE" will be reserved for the next RX-7, which is under development from what I've heard.

Look for a new prefix letter when the RX-8 hits Job 1 in 2003.

As perviously mentioned, FE is indeed being set aside for the next-generation RX-7, which will go into production after the RX-8 but before the NC Miata.

Who wants to venture a guess as to what the prefix will actually be? Hmm, IL3S or JG3S? 3 is, I believe, for the 1308CC engine. The suicide doors (hehe cool) may allow a brand new letter not used previously.

Welcome, bwob.

They're officially listed as "convenience" doors. We know what's up though :D

Cool! I can't wait to use those convenience doors. I hope they work better than Saturn's design.
