Is the RX-8 for me?

Yeah thats right... im getting my license in 5 months, but before i get a car, I want to know if the 8 is really for me.

So the reason why i believe the 8 is so good for me is,

1)I want a compact size but 4 doors
2)I want a torquey car with higher revs
3)I want a rear wheel drive car
4)I want a car different and uncommon to find
5)The design is perfect for a 17 year old asian kid
6)The car is reliteavly fast yet not a bullet
7)Car is comfortable and good looking.

So the reasons why i believe the 8 might not be so great,

1)GAS MILEAGE ugh...
2)reliability?

Yeah i maybe wrong on the reliability thing but from what i hear 8's are tough to keep up.

Yeah so, do YOU think the 8 is for me?

if not i could just be mad ricer with a 747 wing on my moms toyota sienna or my dads x5

lol jk
please respond seriously

the car has no torque. torque + high revs don't really go together.

1. true
2. not exactly a torquey(spelling) car
3. true
4. true
5. Ha, don't know about this but all go with it
6. true
7. true

5 for 7 not bad, gas mileage isn't exactly great but most of us really don't care to much about it, and if you take care of it its reliable.

If you can afford the gas, then I would tell anyone to buy an 8. I look forward to driving everytime I get in my car.

If you have never owned a car before remember despite the 8 being somewhat underpowered compared to other sports cars, it is by no means slow or easy to control at it's limits ESPECIALLY to a beginner, so starting with something like that at a young age and trying to do too much without proper expirience and lots of practice can be super dangerous. I'm also guessing you'll be getting quite a bit of help paying for it by mom and dad, so just be ready to get flamed a bit by people who have learned on POS's and worked real hard to earn their 8. Just a heads up. I love mine like many other happy owners out there despite it's lack of torque XD, and for someone as young as you I'd say it'd be more than enough to go out have a little fun, make your friends jealous, and get yourself a good lookin chick to ride around with you in it. Just be careful, I can't emphasize that enough. Best of luck.

As someone else mentioned, I look foward to driving it all the time. If my sister needs to go to the mall, we leave immediately. I take the backroads, and go out of the way just to have a longer, twistier ride. It is AMAZING.

I'm only 16, and I owned 4 second-gen RX-7's before this car. This is by far the GREATEST thing I've ever owned. Oh, and, apparently...it is faster then the 2005 Ford Mustang GT from 10-90mph

Just love it, and it will love you back. :-D

OH, and to the comment about getting a nice chick. I am fat, never been good with the ladies...my second day owning it, I got asked out twice. :-) They've been pouring all over me ever since buying it.

You really haven't done much research...All your questions can easily be answered with the search button.

Also, since you say that you are getting your license soon...Please tell me you are not planning on getting an AUTO 8...if so, don't...

Oh yeah, are you Asian, or AzN?? Please don't buy the 8 if you are AzN...

The TRUE power of the 8 hahahah.

Oh and about the old 87 Corrolla, that wouldn't happen to be a GTS now would it? You'll be straight up initial D if drive that and the 8

If you (or daddy) can afford the car, and the rediculous insurance for a 16 yo driver in it then i don't think you really have to worry about the gas milage. If you do, it's not for you.

according to what i've heard from your other posts so far, it doesn't sound like the 8 is quite what you're looking for. the largest point being TQ...which the 8 barely even has. And if you plan on souping it up, you'll find that it cost significantly more to get equivalent power to other NA piston engines. Just a few of my observations...

Good luck with yur search

I dont plan on upgrading it with aftermarket parts other than an exhaust.
I plan on doing visual modifications since im happy with how the 8 runs all around
