Is redlining a good idea?

Ive heard that it is beneficial to redline your engine to help clean out any carbon or other junk that might build up. However I have also head that redlining can warp the shaft that the engine rotates around. Any insight into this would be extremely helpful.
-Thanks

Whoever told u the "warp the shaft" thing can take that comment and stick it back up to his ***.

Redline is just part of it, the proper way is : "you have to go WOT until Redline to clean the junk out."

Whoever told you that is a DUNCE. A redline a day keeps the carbon away.

Redlining is good for cleaning out the gunk.

Redlining is also good for the mind/body/soul.

Redlining makes me smile

This is true. A good long drive at highway speeds will work also.

Not to what your redline is limited to with the Mazda tune.

Tell your friend that the rotary engine doesn't rotate around the shaft. Honest, it stays stationary, right there where it is bolted in, trust me it doesn't rotate.

I think this sums it up

"Do bears shxt in teh woods?"

And yes, you can be in control even during redlining...eg. accelerating into 2nd and 3rd at 9.6k rpm will bring up the traction control light.

Its fun. very fun.

not only is it no fun, but well... it decreases your mental state of mind, which is a bad thing when you are behind the wheel.

red lining = happy = happy driver = driver in good mood = no road rage
