Rear door safeguards

From what I can gather, the rear doors on the RX-8 are overlapped by the front doors - what's to stop the rear doors being closed after the fronts and crashing into that lovely bodywork? Is there some sort of locking mechanism in the hinges to protect against this?

there's a thread about this already. Bunch of guys actually tested this and noticed that the rear door will bounce back out without damaging the front door.
