UK A rather irritating Low Compression story

Hi All,

Bit of a story to tell here.

I was suffering from agoraphobia last year, and quite literally hadn't left the house from the end of 2010 up until October last year. In the beginning of October I drove an old friends RX8 - and it was absolutely amazing. For the first time in years I felt like I had the confidence to leave the house....so I had to get an RX8.

So I got a Job, saved up a deposit for a loan so I could get an RX8. About 1 month ago I organised the money, and bought my RX. It was quite literally amazing - instead of just going straight home from work, I wanted people to see me in the car so I would quite literally take the longest route possible home - ranging from 2 - 3 hours! I recently replaced the coils, plugs and cat with the money left over from the loan.

Yesterday, the car wouldn't start after a 20 minute drive. This morning, the car refused to start at all.

The car came with what I thought was a genuine compression test, but after phoning the garage that supposedly did it - they've said that they've never compression tested an RX8.

Today I've tried getting a loan to cover the new engine - however because I have outstanding finance on the car, no banks / loan companies want to know.

So at this point I'm A) looking at losing my job as I don't have a working car and B) If I lose my job, I'm looking at bankruptcy due to the loan.

So getting to the point, does anyone know if there's a place in the UK that offers finance on a rebuild? If so, could I have their details? I know its an extremely long shot, but it's quite literally the only idea I have right now...

All the best,

Tommo

to cut it short.. no im 90% sure there arent, ive wondered for the future if/when my motor needs rebuilding it would be better to finance the build than give £2000 all in one These can be temperamental cars and it sounds like you should have done a bit more research before buying. Its definitely worth having AA breakdown insurance too.

if there is such a thing as breakdown insurance in UK then just get it right now.

I used to have it but it's only for new cars, first owner, and gotta get it before it reach 15K miles. and will cover up to 70K.

it sounds like ur engine was low compression and it's flooded, Have u try to deflood it first ?
