quick taillight question.

so i had the water problem with the rear pass. side so i drilled some holes, but the water that was in there sloshed around and now i have the ugly marks on the inside of the plastic. my question is... how can i get inside if the housing? im guessing by baking the housing for 15 min on low temp and open it up? if im wrong or right please tell me haha
thanks!

Do Not bake open your tail-lights. AFAIK, the plastic bits are fused together permanantly and the only possible result is melting them. (Searching for a citation on this currently)

Get some white vinegar and use that to rinse off any water spots.

I had the same problem, so I air dried them out... then bought the bigger seal--which worked for about 10months. Then I had the water problem again after a big rain, so I ended up having to replace the taillight all together. My suggestion, rather than mess with the light for the next few months letting it drive you crazy, is just to just replace it.

Too bad the new taillights aren't a perfect fit into the 04-08 models... that would make for a sweet replacement.

you've got lines b/c the water is dirty. Try CLR, dry it out with a heater. Clean and cake your gasket with silicone, reinstall, it should be fine.

Distilled Water, slosh it around, drain out what you can, airdry, buy a gasket, close the holes and refit the gasket with sealant, reinstall. That's what I did and it worked great.
