Questions

I bought a 06 rx-8 brand new; it is a GT

It doesn't play mp3s which sucks...but I guess I can live with it.

Can I upgrade the cd player completely, I heard it is integrated so I can't.

Second, mine has Sat on it. I am guessing it means satellite radio. what can I do with this button?

And third, why do people take the time and look at me while I am sitting in my 8

ill answer in reverse:

Its a good looking car, not the driver :P

the sat button is used if you have the OEM sat installed, if its not installed, you have no use for it

Yes you can upgrade it, you can swap it to a 6 disc or a MP3 single disc. The whole unit is integrated, but the cd portion is removeable.

So could I goto Circuit City or something and get a new cd player with atrac, wmv, mp3, and cda support?

And how do I go about getting sat installed (not going to..just want to know...im not paying monthly)?

The cd player must be obtained through your dealer, it is a custom part. the sat can be obtained from anywhere that sells it, you just have to make sure its installed correctly.

MP3 CD player is dealer swap out. Center console comes off, old out, and new in. Do a search in Interior forum. Lots of info. Seek and ye shall find.

... or you could spend some quality time with your RX8 this weekend doing a simple hack that sounds great and costs nothing. I mean really free if you can spin a screw driver and handle some mild wiring. Chech out www.whatsmyip.org/ipodrx8
I did mine just last weekend. Now I've got an 8mm jack I can plug into just about anything with a headphone jack. I never new my iPod could sound so good!
