If your oil light turns on you are either low on oil or the sensor needs to be replaced. Have you actually checked your dipstick at all? If not do that and report back where the oil level is.

Search and do a ton of reading to decide what oil you want to use. Either that or just go with 5w20 and hope for the best.

Are you serious?

and what oil usually used on a rx8?
Do you not have a copy of the owners manual?
If you don't, you can get a free copy to download from Mazda's USA website.
Go to mazdausa.com.
There's a link on the top of the page that says "Owners".
Hover your mouse over it, and there's a sublink for "Manuals and References". Click that one.
Now, select the year of your car, and RX-8, and click the button.
Now you have access to all the manuals your car came with when it was brand new.

Have you read the new owners thread on the forum?
I would bet with 99% certainty, that you haven't.
Search for it, and read it. It will provide you with 8+ years of this forums knowledge and experiences all rolled up into one easy to read and understand location.

BC.

I hope it's not too late but, do NOT drive or continue running the engine if the oil light is on.

You do know these cars need to have oil added regularly, right? It's part of the design, the dealer should have told you about this. Sounds like this is a new car, right?

The oil depends on your country and climate, where are you?

AllenFBaby, read the first 9 posts of the thread linked by godesshunter in post #9 of this thread. I am also sending you a PM. Your lack of research is moderately terrifying.

Hmm. I guess this qualifies.

Closed before it gets out of hand.
