Thumbs up PT 2 of my clutch problem

https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-discussion-3/clutch-problem-87783/

as you know from the thread above my gf stalled on my 8, and after I left her house I had a huge problem with my clutch shaking and feeling all out of whack....Well I brought it to the dealer and they told me that potencially during the stall out period, that some of the bolts got loose and that some of the parts were damaged....now the guy at DENVILLE MAZDA was really nice, the clutch plate, flywheel which is from MAZDASPEED, and the clutch is gonna be replaced under warranty..... so hopefully problem solved, so i guess it was my gf's fault, but as long as its gonna be fixed... thanks for all you guys and girls who helped me out

P.S. think twice about letting your gfs drive your car haha jk

No matter how much abuse, you should never have a pressure plate come loose. NEVER.

it was not your girlfriends fault. I am willing to bet that whoever installed the MS flywheel didnt tq it down correctly/evenly and it came loose over time. That or the flywheel wasnt made correctly and was out of balance and vibration made it come loose over time.

If everyone that stalled their car out needed to get their pressure plate/clutch replaced, no one would buy a manual.

Sometime things just happen and the car stalls out.

i have stalled my rx8 out 2 times in the almost 1 year of owning it (May 25th) and a few of my friends have driven it and stalled it out 1 other time. So 3 stalls in 1 year. On top of that I have been to many events/autocrosses and given the car fairly aggressive starts...........0 problems.

Well said ol' chap.

Stalling will wear out your clutch a bit and possible or likely cause pieces to break of and deposit in your transmission juices.

Way to go Mazda!!!! Although, i rather have you deny this guys claim and accept some of the stupid claims you've rejected over the past couple of years, but that's ok

Seems like in this case, unless they are the ones taht installed the clutch/flywheel (Mazdaspeed) they would have a legitamite reason for not doing it warranty. They are so weird!

Whoever installed your clutch probably didn't tighten the bolts down properly. They could have left out the lock washers and the bolts could have backed out. It would only take 1 to back out and fall into the right place to cause a problem.

oh no haha they installed it... when I bought the car they worked in all my mazdaspeed products into the deal, so they installed everything.... so it was their fault if what you say happened with the bolts.... so they had it on record so damn right they should cover it.... i installed everything else, besides the turbo kit...
