Some dealers have been nice enough to paint those hubs for some, other have had to do it themselves. Hope Mazda service in England is better then here...

Got to be strakes. unless the notoriously lovely UK weather even rusts out the plastic vents. Aluminum = junk. Buy stainless (BTW had mine shipped from the UK)

Actually, it does. But it's not copper-colored rust like iron, it's an ugly white mess. I used to have some aluminum pots that I left in the sink too long...

But in any case, English RX-8's don't have aluminum. They have aluminium.

I think the white mess is oxidation not rust.

Help settle the discussion - what are you seeing on your strake/fin? Typical brownish rust, white mess?

And what do you think rust is?

I'll give you a clue - it can be prevented by eliminating exposure to oxygen.

I was curious what the rust looked like, though. Thanks skynryd.
