NJ Problem with my 6 Disc Changer

Everytime I load a CD into my player it always says " CHECK CD" on the dislpay screen, and it spits the CD out. No matter if its the actual album i buy from the store or a CD I burned, I hear it spinning and then it says "CHECK CD". The only way to get it to work is constantly load the CD for about 5 minutes. anyone know what is wrong or can help?

A new cd may have rough edges on its inner and outer perimeters. Remove the rough edges in advance by using a ball-point or pencil. To remove the rough edges rub the side of the pen or pencil against the inner and outer perometer of the CD. Try that first

Try buying a CD lens cleaner online or in the store.

Yep. They're usually a disc with a little brush attached, you put it in and listen to the audio on the first track, it'll tell you what to do - usually you push the next track button at a specific time.

Run it through its routine a couple of times and it has a good chance at fixing you right up. As long as you can get the changer to play it in the first place, that is!

You might just have to replace the unit...If you do, you can find 6 disc changers on here for about $100+/-. Also you could buy the Mazda or one of the aftermarket iPod adapters. There is also the single disc player that plays MP3s. Of course, all this requires taking dash apart.

I've got the exact same issue with the 6-disk on my '04. It sometimes takes my full 1-hour commute to get a CD to load. I've had the problem for well over a year and it's getting progressively worse. Please let me know if you find a solution.

Thanks Razz, at this point i'll try anything. I'll go to home depot tonight after work and buy a can and see what happens.

BTW, if you haven't already figured it out - you don't need to let the CD eject and then reload it constantly. Just before it ejects, you can cycle power off and on, or quickly switch to FM,SAT,etc. and back to CD. That'll reset the load and you can save a few seconds each try.

I understand that this is an OLD thread, but does anyone know the solution to the OP problem? I bought a 2004 and mine supposedly has a Bose system (cannot tell on the headunit it doesnt say anything) but trying MP3, burned CD, and regular CD it just keeps saying "CHECK CD" and will not play anything. Is there a way to reset this or check if the lense has issues?
