Cool A Perfect Car

So a friend and I took a roadtrip to Karnes City, (outside San Antonio)
We took my car, and all I can say is that the 8 is a perfect roadtrip car. Fast, Reliable, Comfortable, and big enough to put all our **** in. It was sweet...I stopped for gas on the way and a lady asked me, "what kinda car is that?" I said proudly, "A Mazda RX8." She said, "Well shoot, I aint never seen nothin like that before, its got some big brakes on that sucker." I smiled and said "Ya." All in All, I just thought I'd let everyone know that an RX8 is a Great car to take a roadtrip in...I don't see anyone takin trips in 350z's!

anyways, I took some pics.... Nothin special, just another beautiful 8 in a random parking lot...O ya, and I had a little fun slidin around in the mud...

And of course, she got a nice car wash afterwards...

NICE!!!

I want to take my 8 to Vancouver from Alberta. The only thing I am concerned about is if I'll run out of fuel in the middle of somewhere with no cell reception.

I think it is the perfect car for a road trip other than that!!

Looks like you just finished a rally =P just kidding.
Thats great! Yeah the backseats help when carrying extra luggage when our tiny trunk fills up, something the 350z cant do >=D
Did you have any problems with gas/oil? Did you get tired driving? (Driving the impreza feels like work).

Haha, it was kind of a impulse thing...the town was really small, and the streets were mud, so I figured, why not have some fun slidin around in my rear-wheel drive rotary machine...so I did. It was awesome.

Although I must say I do enjoy driving it on the streets better than in the mud.

Yes, the back seat did help. And no I did NOT get tired of driving, it was so comfortable all the way there...I enjoyed every minute of it.

And as for the gas, It actually did better than I thought it would, averaged about 20-22mpg...and no problems with oil. =)

What the hell is in Karnes City? Nice pics but you should have taken the Range muddin' and left the 8 at home.

I agree. It is a good road trip car. It's hard for me to keep off the pedal above 70mph

It's not perfect—the oil pressure gauge is fake.

I've done that many times. Gas up in Kamloops, and then in Revelstoke, and you'll be fine.

Heh, I've been in Karnes City before... but I was pretty young and don't remember much of it. My Pops grew up in Kenedy, and I remember spending some summers there in the nearby farms with relatives.

My Pops also likes the RX-8. Everytime I visit in SA he wants to go riding in it... even if it's just to pick up some pizza.

I'm looking forward to driving around the hillcountry this spring.

Thanks for the advice. In 2005 we went in a crowded GMC Jimmy and a couple of times I saw the needle past 'E'. So I was just worried a bit.
