Painting brake calipers - Brilliant Black car... color reccomendations?
Hoping to paint my calipers and replace my brake pads this weekend, I have a brilliant black car and was wondering for some color reccomendations.
I love trying to keep most everything "black" on my car but I have the feeling if i did the calipers in black, nobody would notice them. The most common color im seeing is red for the calipers.
I'm torn between going with red and trying yellow calipers on my black car? What would you think?

Black on my BB. They don't stand out, but that was the intention. They are noticable when in motion - but you'll never see that perspective. But you can make them stand out more w/colored rx8 stickers on the black paint. If you want them to stand out, go red. Don't know about yellow, but I don't much care for yellow anyway. I imagine it will stand out more since there are not many w/yellow calipers.

Ford Red. You'll have a larger variety of colors to choose from if you get engine paint rather than caliper paint, it's pretty much the same thing. Make sure it can withstand the heat though.

If you want them noticed go with something bright, if you want to be sutble, go with the black or silver...I went with testors model paint, you get a really good variety of colors...

Finally Boosted!!!!!!!
My 8 is TiGray and I painted my calipers black because I didn't want them to standout too much. But I also used the RX8 Stencils from Polak. I think it looks great and it added some flair without standing out. Here is the link to the stencils

Heh - well i feel better now, i Was in autozone an hour ago picking up some high temp spray paint to fix a few dings on my 2 oil coolers (and to paint my Racing beat protector screens black to match my ride) and was deciding wether to pick up a can of red too for the calipers, decided against it, if I choose to paint the calipers they are going to be black as to match everything else on my car
thanks all!

Go red...looks nice on a BB

btw, I think the spray is harder to control than the paint on stuff. you have to be really careful about overspray, so just make sure you mask everything off really well. spray paint has a tendency to find those little nooks and crannies.

My BB Shinka came with Polished Silver Calipers...
I'd go with Sunlight Silver to match everything else down there...
