One reason the cars were/are delayed out of Midlothian, TX

According to my sales manager (i.e. knows more than the typical salesman), one significant reason for the delay for cars coming out of Midlothian, TX. is that the car has to be loaded on the truck unlike most cars.

1. The cars are quite low to the ground.
2. The tow rings are on the side of the car and thus they have to be bolted onto the trucks like some european cars are.
3. They are being extra careful.

He said this caused an additional few days of delay and was the main delay for cars coming out of Midlothian, TX.

Take it for what it is worth. My sales manager has been pretty accurate about things.

ask him this

does he know the truck has a lift gate these days?

they drive the car on a platform, lift it up to the first level or upper level and they drive thru.

if the car is that "low" i wouldn't think it's streetable

also, cars are parked in neutral and chalked at the wheel

or strapped down via heavy duty ratchet straps

it seems the only reason for the late release is:

All 1st allocation is sold and they are waiting for 2nd shipment for nation wide release, so the dealership will have 'stocks' the next day.

of course, trusting the a salesman is better than some faceless dude off the internet... :D

Funny how you said the same thing about the cars not coming into Jacksonville port. Come to find out JAX is the LARGEST port when it comes to importing cars. It has been for two years and last year set a record of over 600,000 cars. And a lot of RX-8s are coming into to JAX Port.

It has nothing to do with you being "faceless" just "truthless" or "factless".

so you want to take up the bet left off on the other thread??

looks like i was right about car not arriving in dealer ship in the first week of July, no?

read the post again, never said Jax does not import cars.

btw, i want my autoart rx8 in red pls

let me reiterate, coming in to JAX i was refering to import port, not arriving via BNSF or UP rail.

you want the truth? (refraining from finishing) LOL

north east delivery will come thru LA or seatle

personally i wouldn't expect them to ship anything directly by water to the east coast, not even TX

it'll come into the west coast, then rail to the diff distribution warehouse/yard and then truck to the dealership
I pasted a couple of your other posts above for some comic relief. I haven't seen a post where you were right yet. But we should believe a "faceless person on the internet"? LOL
Also I am confused by the top one, did you say the cars are coming into JAX or not? They came by boat no matter what you think.
peace

May or may not be true.

1. Remember about have the cars have the appearance package. Which does stick out a little and thus the entry and exit angle off the truck needs to be less to keep from scuffing up these painted moldings.

2. Midlothian isn't an ocean port it is by Dallas. So they drive the cars onto the trucks like normal. I don't think they load cars onto the carriers that way.

3. Even if they did use "platforms" in Midlothian, at the dealer they come off the carrier straight onto the ground. There are no "platforms" at the dealership. And if you have every seen them take normal cars off, they normally do it FAST.

if the car is that "low" i wouldn't think it's streetable
Is this low enough for you?

http://www.rx-8forum.com/showthread....ight=clearance

And that is not with the appearance package front lip that sticks out more and is a pinch lower as well.

also, cars are parked in neutral and chalked at the wheel

or strapped down via heavy duty ratchet straps
Well it sounds like you know more about loading cars than they do. Go show them how to do it.

it seems the only reason for the late release is:

Sorry but that is a shitty conspiracy theory. The sooner they sell the cars, the sooner the dealership gets paid and the sooner MazdaUSA gets paid and the sooner Mazda Japan gets paid.

of course, trusting the a salesman is better than some faceless dude off the internet... :D
Once again he is the sales manager (i.e. has direct contacts with Mazda on a daily basis about these shipping things.) He isn't some snot-nosed highschool flunky.

Believe whoever you want. I am just passing along info.

i don't know how low the 8 is but i've seen nsx got loaded into trucks and rail

cars are presold to the dealership, sorry, mazda got the money already, once the dealer's credit approve, they will / can ship the car to them.

Bam! The pistols went off in the dual.

There was a huge explosion which then caused a diversion and delay for even more RX-8 owners since now, all port deliveries were re-routed through CANADA! (yes, they got their cars first!).

So Mazda go their money back in January/Febuary at the start of the presale program? If I were a dealer, that sure sounds like a crappy deal to me. I pay Mazda now for cars I get 6 months later?

I doubt that is true.
