Obd2 no communication

Tryed to connect dash command through iPhone via elm 327 adapter .
The adapter connects with the iPhone via wifi ok but there doesn't seem to be any communication with the app and ecu .
Thought there might be a fault or bug with app or adapter but when I connected it to the other car and it worked .
Hoping there might be a simple solution .
Car is the 231 2004 ps

You probably got a crappy Chinese knock off from Amazon for $15 I used to use a Bluetooth obd2 with torque pro and it worked fine, but that $15 pos didn't work on the GM ecu when I did my engine swap.

I remember reading somewhere that the Torque app doesn't work well with iOS.

I have a $25 one from amazon and works fine with DashCommand. Make sure the connections are correct, starting with the Bluetooth, use the default password. Also under DashCommand, use ELM for interface, and Bluetooth under dataport.
