Now I belong

I just got my RX-8 from the dealership on Friday. After reading this site for 3 months and scouring the differences on all the other cars I wanted I decided on the RX-8. I am so glad I did. This car is fast... like... unethical fast... I had a friend who works at the dealership, and he helped me get a deal on a late model 05 with 7k miles. Touring edition w/ Pearl exterior, with custom leather interior of my choice (haven't decided yet, thinking two tone of pearl/bone, black/pearl, or black/doeskin, colors from katzkin.com the dealer's leather people), also having the icelink thing put in by the dealer, got fleet pricing on the signature finish, lojack, extended warranty till for 7 years or 75k mi. and it is one of my most satisfying purchases. Thanks to everyone's help here on the site in making my decision!

And you don't even have to suffer through that annoying "break in"!

Congrats!

Be careful with those seats. If you mess around with the leather, you will loose warranty on those side airbags. I got this info from thousand oaks mazda. They were doing custom leather on non-GT models but with this warning.

With the fast comment I wouldn't be so sure about that.

Anyhow, grats on the new car and welcome to the site.

I think there is. I drive for my own pleasure, not to beat anyone, or get my jollies knowing that I can. The RX-8 is fast enough out of the blocks, and it has an engine that is satisfying to use.

What's nice about our cars, is that unlike Evo's or WRX's, it is not a three box family sedan with a stiffer suspension pieces- it is purpose built from a clean sheet of paper (not that they use paper anymore) to be what it is. I can drive pretty much what I like. This car fits ME- and I really don't care what the timing slips say.

no idea, bought it that way. It looks cool, I think that's why we bought the car. I don't think we would have gotten it otherwise
