I have been lurking here for a couple of weeks and decided to join the discussion!
First I have to confess--I don't drive an RX-8, my wife does! I drive a Dodge 3/4-ton pickup, (hence my username). Anyway I have already found out some good info and look forward to the friendly discussion!

I don't drive one yet and I've been here for six months, so I guess you having one in the familly is one step better than that for sure :D
Been waiting and waiting to buy for a whole number of reasons that crop up, like now selling the house and moving to a new one. And not getting rid of the old car so won't have a third parking spot till we get to the new house :p
I like it :D . It is a lot of fun to drive, but it is hard to get used to coming from my truck, which I also really enjoy driving! I have to get used to sitting back rather than sitting up.

Welcome, Dodger! You're a shining example of a truly cool husband to let your wife have all the fun! You should remind her how lucky she is every now and then. :D

My pickup is a Ram 2500. It is based on hauling/towing capacity. A 1500 is a half ton, a 2500 is a 3/4 ton, and a 3500 is a one ton. The higher the number the more you can haul.
Funny you should mention it, but a couple of weeks ago my wife and I were driving around in her 8 and an SRT-10 came along side us and I think he wanted to race (that or he couldn't drive a stick). He would rev the engine, take off, slow down and let us catch up and do the same thing. Stupid dodge drivers!
SRT-10s are fine if you jsut wanna go fast, but are fairly worthless if you want to pull something. Put a 10,000 pound trailer behind my truck and an SRT, and we will see who has the most muscle! :D
