Nitrous....
Hello, Now before I continue this is JUST a idea, no intention of doing it. i've done multiple searches and hope I don't get flamed for this...
Would Nitrous Oxide work with the rx8? Does anyone have it done? I was with a friend at a ricer shop, an employee approached me and asked if I drove a car. I said 'yes a Mazda RX8' he was like let us put nitrous in it, I replied with 'no thank you' because I don't need it.
But just for fun, Would it work with the RX8? anyone have it and used it?

Stupid. Silly "ricer boy" mod made popular by the Fast and the Furious movies...good way to hurt yourself and blow your motor if you don't know what you are doing. Why would anyone NEED to use Nitrous on the street? And what good is it on an RX-8 anyway...we all already know this car isn't a straight line / quarter mile type car anyway. It makes up for it in the twisties. Not like you can use it on the street either...legally at least.

I agree with kw1k. Looking back if I had it to do all over again. I might very well have gone the nitrous route. The turbo option has had it's issues. it's not as clean cut as a bolt on should be. I have seen a few Zex installations and they were very clean, easy to use, and gave good hp gains. What you say can be said about every kind of power adder. A sloppy install of a turbo kit can easily blow the engine. No one NEEDS nitrous, just like no one NEEDS a turbo. What it will give you is that extra kick when you want it (a nice 55-75 shot depending on your mods). Just because it is slower than some of it's competitors doesn't mean we can't drive it in a straightline. Does it perform better in the twisties, of course, but it doesn't mean you don't want to dust off the occasional S200 or 350Z with the bottle on, or hit a 1/4 mile track once in a while. Also the legal aspect is a red herring at best, as where I live, the turbo isn't even legal. No way is a turbo kit going to get CARB approval (light off is stunted). Looking back, and after seeing Addictive's setup, I probably would have gone nitrous if I could.
