Clear corners are what most people do...
How much are you willing to spend first?

Clear corners arent illegal in any states are they?

Clear corners
intake/exhaust

I would read and make a desicion now on what you plan to do with it, and or what you want out of it. If you do the basics like everyone intake exhaust pullies etc, those don't produce a whole lot of results and most end up taking them off to go turbo or supercharged. You might save your money and make a decision first before spending thousands only to replace those later for more mods worth thousands. Hope that makes sense.

welcome to the addiction....i would say shortshifter, then lower it, IMHO ambers look good on red and red only...clears are nice too...you should also change your parking lights to LEDs (u know the 2 little lights on the inside of your headlights)

Hey man I have the Front Rotary Accent for sale, It's in perfect condition, so if you want it send me a PM, its only $30 + shipping.

But for other first mods, I would say get some Sway bars, They were my first suspension mod and I definitally noticed a difference in the handeling. Much less body roll, felt alot more stable around the corners. Aftermarket wheels also make the car look alot better and more aggressive.

Welcome to the addiction...for mods it's all on what you prefer exhaust gives it a nice tone esp at WOT but an intake gives it a nice sound but no HP gains actually some give less HP so i personally would save the 300 or so dollars on that and get someting else....Wheels alwasy make a vehice custom look but if you're lookin to spend 1000 thats about all you will get is a set of wheels for about a grand so that's up to you but i'm glad you are enjoying the car and post pics ASAP...pics or it never happened RIGHT GUYS?

I have a VR too...most tasteful mods are clear corners and rotary accents. Then maybe the side strakes. If you do the clear corners make sure you keep the amber light bulbs or you buy the "stealth" amber lightbulbs.

Clear corners are illegal in the US, but it's not a primary offense so you can't get pulled over for them. They could add it to a list of other infractions if you give them lip for pulling you over though. I second keeping amber bulbs in them. either the stock amber bulbs or stealths.

The general consensus is that nobody care unless you have a clear sidemarker and a white bulb. clear sidemarker and amber bulb is enough to keep the cops from caring.

Some locations (like here) don't care about the bulb at all - the reflector must be amber.

Didn't stop me, but you should know what the regs actually are for your area.....

I totally agree. Besides, with every owner changing to clear, the ambers are more unique. Hehe.

Congrats on your new 8. There are no shortage of opinions about what mods to do/not do on this forum.

My obsession started with clear corners and stealth bulbs. Get what you like and enjoy!...

well if you want to spend only 1k, heres what i would get the rotory accent package on ebay you can get the sides for i think 150 and the front for 150 then the rear is 75, then get the strakes off of www.rx8strakes.com like 50 bux i think. lowering springs around 175.00 now you have about 400 dollars left over so if you like exhaust get an exhaust system or some new rims, then your a little over 1k
