New to the RX8 and the site, question

Just bought my first RX8 and I love it. I do have a question though. I'd like to know what "trim" I have. The car is an 2007 and it does have a spoiler, which I believe is optional, but no sun roof. What exactly were the differences between sport, touring, and grand touring back in 07? Is there an easy way to tell what I have? Thanks guys!!

Do you have DSC button? Do you have xenon headlights? If not, it's a base, if you do, it's a sport. Welcome to the club and enjoy your stay.

Well just saying there are xenons or leather is not accurate. The sunroof or DSC are indicators of GT, but to truly find out you'd have to do a VIN search. Like the HID's and leather, your spoiler could have also been added by 1) previous owner if any or 2) dealership.

I would guess Touring but it's only a guess. Enjoy your 8, add oil often, don't be afraid to red line frequently. Take care, we're here to help one another.

Am I supposed to refresh the page over and over until someone responds? Chill out.

I have leather around the steering wheel but cloth seats. It doesn't look like a have that traction control button left of the steering wheel, three of the four switches are blank and the last switch 2nd from the left has a speedometer looking symbol on it with a dial I can turn. I have NO idea how to tell what my headlights are, xenon or otherwise.

It's looking like I might have to contact Mazda and gve them my VIN#. I keep seeing people mention I could have base or sport, but isn't that the same thing? I thought sport was their lowest trim, kinda like LS for chevy.

Thanks so much for the help so far, I appreciate it!

It appears you have a base model.

The sport models are just like your except they have DSC (traction control), Xenon lights, no sun roof, and fog lights if I'm not mistaken.

The other models above this I couldn't tell you the difference, but leather seats, Bose, Sat Nav, and sunroof are the options.

Is there a repository of brochures for each year? I've got a pdf for my year ('06) and I know there's always one for the current year. Those spell out the various trim levels and options.

Short of that, maybe someone with an '07 who saved their brochure can help.

my understanding is....

base: basically nothing

sport: xenons dsc

touring: sunroof, fogs, and HID's

Grand touring: leather optional nav auto dimming mirror, homelink mirror, automatic seats, and a few other little things.

note: the higher trims also have the lower trims features.

also im not entirely sure on the GT's features as some of those might just be plain optional extras that are availiable on other trims as well.

any appearance package type add ons were dealer installed therefore did not matter what trim the car was they could be put on any trims (i.e. spoiler, rear lips, front lips, etc.)

if it's an '07, a usdm manual model, then it's a sport w/o the performance package. ('07-'08 sport is equivalent the '04-'06 base 6-speed/manual model, performance package = '04-'06 sport package)

on manual cars, performance/sport package has hid, dsc (dsc off button left of steering wheel), and fog lights. touring package adds bose, homelink, and sun roof. leather = grand touring

you could check the spec deck and ordering info for that year https://www.rx8club.com/showpost.php...&postcount=129

We had in the past had a sticky for the current year spec deck etc that was replaced when the new year came out.

Ill make anew sticky thread containing each years info.
