New RX-8 Owner
Hey people just wanted to say whats up. Just bought my first RX-8 and i love the car. Anyways just wanted to introduce myself and say if there are any tips anyone can give me about the car let me know!

Read the manual and FAQ stickies. Remember it is an oil injected engine and you will have to add some oil occasionally.

hello, got my car today after its five day barge trip up to AK. It made it fine and looks just great! Can't believe I'm driving this thing around. Here is my geek-out story (hey, if I can't tell it here, where can I?). When I was around 15 (around 1980), we were over for dinner at our neighbor's house, and my Dad says, hey, take a look in Don's garage. I open the door, and there is a brand new RX-7 (burgundy). I totally freaked out and have been in love/lust with the RX ever since. I always loved the 280Z, and that was my first car, around 1985 (it was a 1976). Anyways, I've followed the car all the way through, I really loved the GSL-SE with the extra horsepower. Then I was in Seattle and saw a brand new 2nd generation, I liked it, but not as much. Then I was in Yosemite, and there was a green/blue (depending on what angle you looked at it) 3rd generation and it almost made me fall to my knees!! What a car. Then it goes away, and I see the return of the RX in 2003. The reason I really freak about this car is because I see that while most of the testers are around $34K, if you skip all the fancy options (I'm bigger so I need to skip the sun roof for head room anyway) you could maybe get the car for around $26K! That puts me right in the ball park! Ok, so I'm in Seattle a couple weeks ago, and I see that Mazda has $3500 cash back right now on 2008's! But I still don't call. Then, I was in Montana at the in-laws, and I was feeling down, and I make the call to a Seattle dealer, I say I want a stripper without all the bells and whistles, and I want red, and he says I have your car right here! And the price was so insane that I bought it right there! (I can't say the price because I don't want to get anybody in trouble). So, here I am, I have a new RX-8 in my stinking garage! crazy.
