Question New Owner..Question

Hi all...

I just purchased a 2005 Mazda Rx8 and I have what could be a silly question. Under the headlights, there is a small panel on each side that is removable.. Seems to be plastic. One of the panels is cracked and I would like to replace it. Problem is, I have no idea what these panels under the headlights are for or what they are called.

Please help!

Thanks!

It's the diamond shape thing under the headlight. Forgive my ignorance!

Are they required on all cars in some countries?

Don't the headlight washers automatically dispense every x number of times you turn on the lights?

yes, headlight washers.
Available on all non-us models with HID lights. Helps remove snow. Every 5 clicks of the window washers, or a double-tap of the spray to operate them

This is the list of participating countries.

Note virtually all the developed nations are in this list, except USA and Canada.

Thanks for the responses guys! Much appreciated! Mazda wants 200 to replace that damn plastic cover.. The motor and spray works just fine. I will just sand down the current cover and repaint it. Should be good as new!
