New Owner

Hello everyone. New Rx-8 owner here in Orlando FL, just got it last weekend. I'm already in love with it and see myself in it for quite a few years.

04 GT MT
Blue 50k Mi

I don't plan on doing many upgrades to it. I want to tint the windows, powder coat the wheels, and maybe debadge it. In that order. Depends on how much the last 2 cost since I can live without that.

Upgraded from an old *** 92 MR2. It didn't cross my mind I'd find any similarities but I have.

I've read what I can about it, a little shaky getting used to taking care of a rotary engine. I work 2 miles from home (noted as an extreme condition) so I've been taking a extra few miles by going around the block just to go to and from work.

If your concern is flooding, that is not needed, just be sure to let it warm up 5-10 minutes before leaving. Now, if ur concern is just taking the long way so you can zoom-zoom around the neighborhood, then by all means, proceed

Congrats!!

Yea, we'll see what other upgrades make the list (I am highly considering a radio since this one skips alot. *It even skipped when I nailed the gas!).

I'm not worried about the flooding, the temp guage has just enough time to get to the right temp before I get home. I just heard that numerous short trips are terrible on any vehicle. (The effects are very prominent on my motorcycle where it runs rough and the idle is odd. Then I drive it a half hour to soccer and it runs like new again. *shrug*)

Thanks everyone for the welcome.

Another Orlander...lol

Welcome and Congrats..! :p

I read Altamonte and it made me giggle... It seems like Altamonte is the start of a fountain of "8's".... Prior to getting my "8", I used to work out there and I would see and drool over all the RX-8's driving around...

Now, that I own one.. I've been out there a couple of times to the mall... and I have yet to see one...Go figure!!
