New to me 04 on 11-11-11
Picked up a new to me 04 rx8 GT yesterday. Has 55k miles a good compression test and is a stock car. Was glad to finally trade in my Toyota Matrix that i bought for some reasons that I no longer have. I have read a bunch of the stickies, but am sure I will have some questions as I go.
So here are some pics

that is one clean car, and lucky you it came with the MS body kit!
My other ride is also a big piece of metal with big tires - although not as old as your bronco, lol. Quite a contrast to drive the car right after driving the old beater truck

^How can you tell it's a replica?
And it being full red, like the back bumper and all, no black or anything anymore, is kind of intriguing.
She does look really nice. Now get some wheels!

Working on wheels, probably a replica, can see some wavyness especially on door sill pieces.
A couple issues first, needs a new key fob, had a biper alarm on it that I had removed, so no factory door clicker. Also needs a srvice, plugs/wires/coils along with drain/fill on trans and rearend. Never trust a used car dealer to do anything they say they did unless you watch.
Other little things, it needs a polish, had a deflector attached infront of the sun roof etc, and tint the windows. Has a ghost from where an infrantry sticker was on the back window and affected the tint, also painted cover on drivers mirror rattles a bit, needs a touch of something to hold it in place bettet.

Cant wait to get my bronco out here to Raleigh. Just got a job after being layed off and going to school for a couple years. Just had to move from AZ to do it.
This has been my baby getting built up over the last few years, and it is about where I want it finally.

a few more photos, finally a nice day when I'm off work
came with a borla catback system installed
any idea what rear bumper this is? All fiberglass front/skirts/rear bumper
needs a bit of black touchup paint behind the screen to mask some red overspray.
and maybe some better pics with my hot girlfriend in the Spring, she's moving out in a month or so from AZ......

looks to be a replica mazdaspeed rear bumper. The MS is only an 'add on' to the lower portion of the bumper and it appears that's what you have.
is that paint overspray on the mufflers??
Congrats on the car, it's rare to find '04's with that low of mileage.
also appears to have had the stock Intake box modified
oh, and you might want to reseal that left tail light, looks like you're going to get the Aqua Tail light Mod once it starts raining.

both lights need to be resealed, they both have a bit of it, but until I get my tools/own place will have to be. Looking at mid January for my tools, stupid moving from AZ delays etc.
and your right about the overspray, I'll get down and scrub most of that overspray off once I get some jackstands and can actually fit under the car a bit better.

Went down to Mazda today to get a price on a few parts(key fob, engine cover gromets, gas cap) and got them to print out a warranty/maintenance history for the car while I was there. I was surprised to find out that it had a new cat @ 39,000 miles, then a new motor only 9,000 miles ago, and about a year.
sometimes you get a good surprise on used cars. Now to check some prices on the parts at the online mazda parts place.
