This is my first import other than the 328 I had years and years ago. I hadn't even sat in one of these until I test drove it, and I bought it. Fun car, and really comfy. Can't wait to start modding!

Thanks everyone, and yeah e.honda is from my BMX days when SF was huge. The name just kind of stuck even tho I was the scrawniest kid on the block.
I'm not sure about mods. I've never messed with a rotary. I've just planned the basics for now, body, paint, and wheels/springs. I had to put new ignition coils in the first day. It needs a right front wheel bearing, but was owned by a girl so its in pretty good condition aside from being smoked in a rear-ended. It has a cat-back, but totally stock. I'll take some pix today after work.

I looked at the BHR ignition, but this car already had Borg's in it so they were 100$ my cost minus the lifetime warranty equals free. It still idles a little rough I think even though I've never driven one so I'm thinking about plugs and wires too, and tranny fluid, oil & filter, and that will give me a good baseline to start with. I definitely want a tuner of some sort, and was wondering about CAI too. Are they mostly for sound, or do they do anything on this motor? Either way I'll end up with one.

edited - cleaned maf, seems to have made a difference on idle when letting the clutch out. Much smoother and it was pretty dirty.

Thanks everyone. Been kind of a crappy weekend. I helped a friend work on his Speed6 which was cool. I had never driven one before, but yesterday my clutch started slipping, and I was already looking up prices on 2nd's synchro. Looks like I get to add a zero to that first $100.

Already got problems? Anyway, did you get insurance/warranty when you bought the rx8? If not, then its on you...sorry.

Nothing man. Bought from an individual. I think after reading the forums I can probably get away with a fluid swap in the tranny for the crunchy 2nd gear, but that clutch has only one way out. I searched around on the net and searched the forums for clutch threads but didn't see much. ACT a good clutch? I called Oreilly and they're clutch is 7 bones.

Read the post in your sig. Already got new coils and cleaned the MAF sensor. I'm thinking the vibrations at idle are the motor mount. Thanks for the link!

Found an OE clutch assy for just under $500. I can do the install myself, change fluids, and hope there's no need to open the casing for that synchro.
Installed! 3 hours last night and it drives way better. I'll put pictures of the old clutch up tonight. The OE clutch ended up being an Exedy.
