New guy from Arkansas
Hello everyone I'm Jonathan and I'm from the central Arkansas area. I picked up a 2004 rx8 yesterday. I'm new to rotary motors so I have a lot of reading and learning to do. This site looks like it has a lot of good info. The car has Megan racing springs and custom exhaust. It's also a 6spd with only 77k miles. So far it's been a blast to drive compared to my civic and prelude. I do need to fix the Bose amp in order for the radio to work, so any suggestions on that would be great. I'll try to get some pics up this week.

i know im about a month late, but everytime i get on here i get sidetracked reading the stickies. alot of good information on here and it has helped quite a bit. i picked up another bose amp and now i have sound. i got some new tires (Nitto Motivos), purple goodspeed lugs, and new spark plugs. i recently have acquired a CEL for cylinder 2 misfire and have ordered the BHR coil kit. i planned to get the kit soon since the coils need to be changed in about 8k miles. i had someone from mazda run my vin and this car received a new engine at 56,709 miles.
possible mods to come:
BHR midpipe
Cobb accessport
new front and rear emblems
AEM or Racing Beat intake
HKS exhaust
various cf parts
retint door windows
new oem tail lights
new oem sidemarkers
pics i got from previous owner before i bought it
now my pics
new tires - nitto motivos
can only fit one tire in the trunk lol
godspeed lugs
good bye old plugs and hello new ones
only the front springs were on the car so i had to put the rear ones on. knocked this out before getting the new tires alligned
its a pain replacing amps
i was gonna gut the intake some, but it looks like its already been done
i tried to restore some color to the bottom rear vinyl pieces, but i think the 2 corners are too far gone. i used some "as seen on tv" stuff with the pawn stars guy. im gonna put another coat on this weekend and if that doesnt help i may try a better product. i didnt realize mothers and black magic had products for this until after i bought it. it did help with the middle section on the rear, the mirrors, and the piece under the windshield.
got some 3M adhesive remover and got the double stick tape off from the rotary accents. previous owner removed them, but i may put them back on. i would like to get cf ones though.
last sunday Black Betty got her first good cleaning. its pretty sad it took me a month to get around to the cleaning. mainly because work and rain.

Welcome to both of you. Great seeing these cars go to guys who enjoy and appreciate them.
And I rescind Mondie's firing. He may have more posts, but I've been here longer.

woot ... she's coming along nicely... what are those bulges on the air box? I don't recall mine having those "blobs".
New pictures of the engine bay all nice and tidy or like stated previously, GTFO!
I retract both Ken and Moncie! Sure they've both been here longer and have more posts than me but I rule in the hot air department.

i figured id update this since i dont post a whole bunch. mainly cause most of my questions can be answered with the search bar, so i usually just lurk here.
BHR ignition
removed the black paint from tail lights, sidemark, and fog lights
picked up a rubber lip to protect from scrapes on my driveway along with some purple washers for the engine bay
cf license plate frame and led plate lights
cf front and rear M emblems, a black mazdaspeed emblem, and some touch up paint.
tried to restore the headlights - did this again recently and they look really good now

BHR midpipe
got dinged at work and then when at the shop the rubber lipped got caught on their terrible entrance areas
i had led purple fogs for about a month and then switched to some regular super bright white ones. got pulled over for the purple.
last David's Burgers meet before winter
ice/snow day trek home from work
hit a piece of vinyl siding on the way to work and luckily i got the mark off. im so glad i work from home now
team voodoo shift know
traded my oem midpipe for some cf covers for the engine bay
got a working key fob
removed interior panels to be shipped off to dcagarage . com to be redone with Bride gradation to match the shift boot
fixed the door speaker relays
replaced starter with the 13 tooth upgraded one
racing beat intake and air duct. also did a vfad delete.
got the rear fenders rolled. got a nail in tire on the stock wheels, so i put the 2 ssr with decent tires on
picked up a cobb ap v2. unfortunately i have windows 8 and im having trouble connecting the ap to my computer. i did plug it into an older computer and it is update, but still no luck with my windows 8 laptop.
current to do list
new tires for ssr's
retint windows
cf fender vents
replace cd player
new rubber lip
cf rear rotary accent
hood dampers
cf door pillars
hks single exhaust
front splash guards - maybe
