this car started out as a regular 1995 celica 2.2l by the it was finished it became an awd rhd 2.0l celica gt-four fully built engine etc... i did all the work and now have let her go and am looking to build something new.. this is why a v8 swap or a turbo is peaking my interest but all feedback is welcome seeing as i have not even bought a car yet.. i was jus looking for some advice or if i should try a different car? thanks in advance

i do hope to be an rx8 owner!!

I like those old Toyota Celica's. Anyway, it's really up to you if you want to get an rx8. Do some more research about the car. If you already decided on getting an rx8, then you should get the newest models like the S2's (2009-present). Ask for a compression test on the engine before you commit. Good luck on whatever you decide to do.

The engine in the rx8 is not a horrible engine, it is actually one of the main reasons people buy rx8s. Do some research and you'll see lots of people with turbos or superchargers, some ranging in the 300-400+ whp.
The engine bay on rx8's is rather small due to our engine is incredibly small, low 200-240lb-ish if i remember correctly.
Yes we've seen swaps, yes we've seen people dump money into getting them to work correctly.
But most owners just love the rotary engine, the 10,000 rpms, if you get one, drive it for awhile, and then decide if you want to build on it or swap it.

Welcome by the way lol.

Man that Celica is a train wreck. What are you looking at getting our of an RX-8? Drag Car, street car, autocross car, full track car, show car? Or are you just looking to chop it up and do something different just for the sake of being different?

what do you expect people to conclude from those pics you posted Inside the hood doesn't look any better either.

If you are just looking for a project, then you can turbo charge the 8. Many have done it. Look at the 'major horse power' folder.

Again, what kind of project? Any direction with the car in mind? Yes, train wreck. It looks like a train wreck judging from the pics you posted. And I love a clean All Trac.

Minus the gay silver in the front grill and inlet.

Old skool love

Is the spoiler off of a train? Haha I'm just kidding op. I think you would have a lot of fun with an RX-7 as a project car but if you do pick an 8 get a series 1 for more mods.

And yes Razz silver is the new gay. I saw it on Tosh.O
