Awwwwwwwwww,
Isn't he cute?!? And that Titanium paint job!! He's going to a real lady killer.
Just wait till he grows up to 600 miles and can really run. He'll be running you ragged (with delight).
Congrats on the delivery. It is a life changing experience. :D

I wasn't kidding about still in shock... I have only driven it once, last night home from the dealer, (before you ask why, it was raining turning to sleet today when I was ready to go driving, so we went in my wife's car so I wouldn't get it wet or dirty...) but I keep going out to the garage, looking and going, "OMG! I OWN AN 8!!!!!!" (I've been reading the forum so long I really say O,M,G, not Oh my....)
Soooo much more beautiful in person... last night, took one curve that is really sharp and makes me slow waaay down in my suv. Took it without slowing down, laughed OUT LOUD!!! I LOVE THIS CAR! Sorry about all-caps, but I mean it!
Yeah, I said weight in GVWR, or in scientific terms, the actual unladen weight + the weight of my lead foot= 3809 :D
Oh, heck, I gotta run out to the garage.... see ya later!
Signed: Smilin' like a fool!

Congrats! Mine arrived on Thurs. 2/26/04, a pretty green 6MT with the touring package and custom floor mats. 287 miles so far, with 50/50 city/highway driving and over 19 mpg ( going easy the first 800-1000 miles). First car in about 25 years that I really love!

Congrats on the new 8 - just wait till you have a nice day and you can really take it for a RIDE.....(assuming you have your 600 miles on it).
Took my baby for a test drive at the dealer ( I wasn't there to buy, ya know, cuz I had read about how the 8's were so underpowered, yada yada) - the salesman took us out to a nice curvy county road and told me to "go for it".
I did - and like you, actually BURST OUT LAUGHING during the test drive - it was just so damn fun to drive!!! The salesman KNEW it was all over but for the paper work. Told me I was NOT the first person who had laughed on the test drive - corny but true - from the pure PLEASURE of the driving the car......(MT/GT)
Went back to the dealership - bought the car. And, every time I drive it, I'm happier with it than I was before - just an awesome car.

Hey Nordic, congrats on your 8! I've not seen too many in Indianapolis myself... only 3 since I moved here 11 months ago. I plan on getting one soon from the dealership on N. Keystone, pending the deal we're working on.

memrie - I had been looking at the RX-8 since last year, and after reading and doing research (rotary engines have several "characteristics" that you need to be aware of) I finally took a test drive, and was sold. I bought mine from Hubler on the south side, but it seemed all of the dealers had quite few on the lots.

Thanks again, all--
Nordic, right on! and congrats, I keep thinking of Star Trek's Borg (I know it is corny, but) all other vehicles are irrelevant, you will be assimil-8-ed, resistance is futile... :D :D
There is so much to love. I sleep great, actually, 'cos I finally have it! Gone are the hours of waiting, second-guessing, wondering if I could be making a mistake what with all of the faults that get discussed here. BTW, those SHOULD be discussed. I don't want or need a forum that is just a chorus of love-blind 8 freaks. Trolls aside, what makes the 8 so awsome is how good it is even WITH the .00314 faults
And anybody missing the 9 or 12 or 146 HP on their 8 can take it out of mine, because that Renesis has HP to burn! And I'm driving like a granny (for 600 miles) Cheers! Now I CAN Rel-8!

I need the lost connector cord from my cam to the pc... got lots of pics.
By the way, I got like 5 bird dropping hits on my new paint! I'm gonna post this on the "are we a target" thread. Never got my other vehicle. I catch that bird, and it'll be wax on wax off for him! Make a new Zaino applicator outta that varmint! Sheesh!
