Hi all. I apologize in advance since im sure there are a ton of posts regarding my question.
I am planning to buy a car and its between an Accura RSX or the 2004 RX-8 with 70000 kms
I test drove both and of course there was no comparison. the rx-8 is a pleasure to drive (no offense to accura drivers). So im set on the price and the looks are amazing however im starting to worry about the maintenance cost. Ive been told a few times that since its a rotary engine most mechanics wont work on it and the price to fix anything in the engine is astronomical!
I would very much appreciate it if you gave me some insight as to how frequently this car will need engine repairs and whats the realistic cost compare to other engines.
Thanks.

In this day and age of the internet(and especially this site with it's wealth of info and DIY's) it's a huge advantage over the old days, and you wouldn't have to spend all that much on maintenance costs.........in my opinion!

Thanks a bunch for the links. im already feeling more comfortable with the idea.
get with the other local canadians from your area. Goto the next meet. See if one of them will show you around the car. I mean really show you around it. Where the plugs are, how to remove the air box, our strengths and weaknesses in the car. See if you can't convince someone to really give you one on one time with what your dealing with, and even maybe a test drive.
If you get really lucky and someone is doing a get together to work on a car then make sure you jump on the opportunity. But most improtantly get to a couple of club meets, and get your hands on the car and in the car.
