Need FAST advice please!

Been logging onto this forum for nearly a year now and finally test drove the RX-8 today. Absolutely loved the handling & styling but will have to adjust to the lower torque, as I am currently driving a Mustang GT. The RX-8 is for me & will get the Grand Touring model in either black with blk & red leather interior or the dark blue with blk. leather interior. Gonna sleep over it tonight but am NOT considering any other cars. This one is for me.
I'm going back to the dealer tomorrow on Easter Sun. (yes they are open here in Southern Cal) & I need to know what u guys/gals think is a good price for a Grand touring model that lists for $31,665.00. I don't have a lot of time tonite to look thru the stickys for a thread about what everyone paid. Not sure what the markup is on the 8 & want to go in with some of the knowledge this forum can give to me.
Thanks for the input. Hopefully I will be posting a pic of my new RX-8 ASAP!

I paid $32k back in Aug 2003 for my GT. Is this 8 coming with any other options, like nav, etc? I'm willing to bet that you could talk them down.

I wouldn't pay more than invoice.

Invoice would be something like $2300 (more or less) below sticker. No idea what the going price is; Edmunds might offer some guidance.

Visit the Mazda USA site to see if there are any current incentives. The dealer should volunteer that, but it's best to know what's there before the juggling starts.

Sticker on mine with all that protection BS that they put on there was close to $34k, but I have nav as well. It had 1700 miles on it and was more than likely abused as a test drive car, but got the car for around $24k. You can definetely talk them down and get them to add whatever you want as well (aero package, spoiler, floor mats, etc.) and they will do it. My car now has close to 17k miles on it and I have had no problems and no flooding with an 03 build date. The car has been nothing but good times. So, if it was abused, I cannot tell.

I paid $28880 OTD for 07 GT (although I had the SPlan price along with $2000 in incentives). Try to get Invoice price at least.

No more than $500-$600 over invoice is normal in most parts of the country. Sold for invoice is not unheard of if they have quite a few RX-8s in stock.

That would be before any rebates.

True invoice is normally around 15% off window sticker on the RX-8.

That's interesting, because I was trying to get a Mustang GT in 2005, which was very difficult. In addition it was selling for above MSRP which was ludicrous, amounting to an entry-level luxury price for an economy driving experience.

I got a black RX8 in 2005 for $31. That is without navigation or rotary accents or side strakes.

There is also $21,542.83 remaining to be paid. If you were to buy a 2005 today with 7500 miles, would you pay $21? Would you be better off buying used in light of the depreciation? For me the answer is no, just because I don't buy used.
