Red face Need advise On trading my Rx8 Please

Ok Folks I really need serious advise here please. I bought this Auto rx8 for 14k and its an 07 Base/sport model. My Rx8 has only 35k miles on it. So This guy came up to me tellin' me he would trade his 2004 rx8 Manual Trans- for mine. He said he bought it for 8500 and has 70ish thousands miles on the motor. Ok if i do trade it, how much cash should i ask since mine is a little newer model?? And if you wondering why he willing to trade? He said his wife cannot drive MT and she cannot learn lol. Any advice please? i really want the MT of course. Any help would be really appreciated.

Go here: http://www.edmunds.com/used-cars/

Select Appraise a Car at the top (second menu bar down). Enter the details for your car. Rinse and repeat for his car. Subtract the two values to get the difference. Ask for that much in cash.

You might wanna cross-reference with a few other sites, maybe autotrader.com, to get a better sampling.

I would make sure he has a guarantee of some sort left on it aswell... I just replaced the engine block in my 04 A/T RX8 GT at 100,000 km's... so glad I had the guarantee that's for sure!

I would be reluctant to do it. Your 07 has 7 years and 65k miles of engine warranty left, his 04 is down to 4 years and 25k (assuming his maintenance records are in order). Also, the 04 has run some significant time before the MSP-16 reflash which upped the oil injection delivery rate. During that period, the wear rates on the apex seals were higher than they needed to be.

might as well sell your AT and buy a MT of your choice.

really no point in trading the car.
