CO ? on NAV or Garman

I just bought a 2004 RED RX-8 that had no NAV DVD Disc. (stolen, sold ???)

My question is, should I spend the $199 for a new Disc or just use my current Garman 205W?

Is it worth the money to have the 7" screen talk to me?

Thanks

Use the Garman. The OEM navigation system is the dumbest nav I have ever used.

I have a Garmin 255W and my wife has the oem Nav in her '08 CX7. We both prefer the Garmin. Besides being way easier to use, I hate that the passenger can't program it if the car is moving. I will never pay for Nav as an option again.

Thanks everyone, that is what I thought once I tried reading the directions of how to operate the NAV. To many buttons to push and the graphics are old and outdated. I mean it is a screen and it can produce colors, so why not update the graphics to the present..

thanks VoiD, it seems such a waste to have so much $ invested into a DVD NAV player and not be able to use it.
I also thought about trying the DIY stuff and inserting a Garmin into the NAV space. Pulling out the DVD player from the back seat, no need to have extra voltage wasted on equipment that does not work.
I had my wife drive the car all this weekend, teaching her the rules on how to maintain the car.
I also picked up a full sized spare for my safety. When I drive my car to work its 150 miles round trip.
