My AEM C.A.I. on my '07

Just spent about 20 minutes with my new CAI. 4k on an '07.

I switched to the RX8 from a Vette C5 and I really missed the torque when I buried the throttle. I also missed the roar from the Vette's V8.

Here are a couple of first impressions.

The MUCH improved throttle response has given me a real impression of increased torque. I haven't had it on the dyno, so I can't put numbers to it, but am I feeling my head tossed back in 2nd and 3rd? Why, I think I am!

Now to aesthitics...the tone of the engine at 5k and up is beautiful. I am happy to hear the RX8 give me some real audible feedback when I put it where it wants to be.

I've read the threads, and I've read the opions re: OEM vs. aftermarket air intake. I've seen the numbers. But, for me, there is a very real difference. YMMV.

FWIW...I'm happy to see the engine covers off, anyway. I should have done it before. Shit. It's a rotary...show it off!

The only thing I noticed when I put my AEM on was it sounded better...not really any difference in torque or power though

To be honest, after reading here and there, that's what I expected; no real performance upgrade. But, on my car, I'm sure there is a difference.

Again, I don't know if there is a quantifiable torque difference, but the increased throttle response is undeniable on my car, and that might give me the impression of more ft/lbs. I make no claims on horse power; just thrust and tone.

Maybe it's me. In either case...cool.
