This morning I raced a 3rd gen eclipse and it kept right the hell up.I am sooo sad I thought my 8 would kill that stupid car.I mean yea I didnt launch I just floored it when he started going which could make a big difference but I thought my car was much faster then those damn 3rd gens.Dont get me wrong I still love my 8 over any eclipse or anything Im just disapointed.Are there any other cars that can keep up with ares that well that would seem like they couldnt.(I know there are plenty of faster cars I;m just talking about ones you wouldnt expect)

First, you never know if that Eclipse was all stock or not. Second, the eight is not a drag car, especially stock. Third, u said it yourself, you didnt launch correctly which makes huge diff and if that guy was a good driver, he SHOULD have kept up or even beaten you. So dont beat urself up.
Now, all that being said, stock for stock, the 8 should easily handle the 3rd Gen eclipse, considering both drivers are equally skilled. Take that eclipse to an autocross race and see how well it fares against the 8, no contest.

u do seem to realize that our car isnt that fast right?.. just pointing out obvious things... i mean i got beat by a ford explorer for the first 7 secs... cus we have no pickup....heh

but thats y u by a supercharger or turbo ^__^

....oh and i raced a Mazda 6 (v6 model) the other day and at first i was impressed as i only beat em by little over half a car length...but...after i read up on the specs of this 6 (v6 model; talked the guy at the next light) i wasnt impressed as this 6 is SUPPOSE to be faster than the 8. Im still a bit new to the Mazda scene so i had no clue. The 6 boasts a 6.4 0-60, i didnt expect that from that sport sedan. Had he been better driver he prob have beaten me. I do have lighter wheels, greddy sp2 w/ RP supercat, so that may have helped me a little. So, be ready if you decide to race the 6, quicker than they seem.

yeah i agree with Phroz, our cars arent that fast in a straight line, its a tuff fact to swallow, but in the same sense the 8 is not exactly slow. Yes, for the class we r in (Z, g35, ect..) we r at the slowest end of the spectrum as far as straight line acceleration, but in the overall picture, not too bad. YES----> Supercharge that betty!! The dream of all 8 drivers.
