Instead of spending money purely on appearance, spend some of it to make sure it's in tip top mechanical shape. Change/upgrade fluids if they need to be, possibly upgrade the starter (depending on year/age etc), change the plugs, coils, and wires if they need it, and the list goes on. There's a sticky on here on how to spend your first $100 and I suggest reading that and performing those tasks/mods.

After all of that, then worry about engine and appearance modifications. You won't ever gain too much more power from the '8 unless you go FI since Mazda milked the little 1.3L for all it's worth straight from the factory.

As far as your question is concerned, you may get flamed for making a thread on this. Many people have your same question which means it has been asked many times before. Try searching and doing some research on different appearance mods and see which you like. If you're on the edge about one or have a concern about build quality, fitment, etc then come back and ask the community.

EDIT: Nice '8, by the way. But should have got the VR color... adds 10hp

1. raise your car and add mud tires.
2. buy lots of lights and stick them anywhere you can

Or, use your own imagination

^^ Lol

If your going for appearance i would put a drop on it, some nice 18" wheels and the aero body kit.
OR catch up on maintenance. Take care of your 8, and your 8 will take care of you back.

One inexpensive mod is to install some lowering springs, and it will change the look for good.

She is looking good. Appearance wise, I'd say either the OE appearance kit, or the Mazdaspeed kit.

But definitely, as always maintenance first. All oils, engine, trans, diff, power steering, coolant, brake fluid, the whole shebang, along with ignition, all filters, yatta yatta.

Then...

Coils! You can get some decent ones for a grand, new, nowadays.

Or just lowering springs, but coils handle soooo much better. and you can adjust ride height, among other things as well, Lowering springs, what you get is what you get.
