There's a loyal following among some on the flrx8 forum who think anything but dino oil will kill the engine.

They don't seem to understand how synthetics are made, or what they do, and no amount of discussing the topic will change their minds.

I put together this FAQ on the topic:

Jax reman are the people that rebuild them, or...

It could be from the man on the grassy knoll

You could call Scott a liar, But I do not advise it.

Digital, no one is denying that mazda's official stance is that synthetics are not recommended.

The tag in of itself doesn't show us anything new.

Was not discussing the Mazda stance, damnyankee is eluding to the fact that the tag is not legit.

1) Notice the date on that tag? August 1, 2001?
2) Notice that Betsey from MazSport says: "DO NOT use synthetic oil in your engine. It is okay to change the other oils after your 30k maintenance to synthetic, but not the engine... "

I wonder if that is Scott's official stance?

that is absolutely NOT what I'm saying.

I'm saying , that if that tag is on reman engines, or in fact original engines, but the car's owner never sees that tag , what the hell good is it.

I'm not questioning the poster at flrx8club at all. I'm saying if mazda puts that tag on the car, WHY THE F)))))

don't they put something in our owners manual telling us not to use synthetic.

I don't like the looks of that tag means I don't like finding out that we shouldn't use synthetic on a GD website instead of from MAZDA directly.

like I said on flrx8club.net, if i didn't read websites, I 'd be putting synthetic in my car and never thinking twice about it

BECAUSE MAZDA HAS NEVER TOLD ME NOT TO.
