Looking to possibly buy a 2004 RX-8, need opinions.

Hey all, I'm new to this forum. Just wanted to get some opinions as I have read both great success stories as well as horror stories with the RX-8 (2004 especially.)

I found a local 2004 RX-8 with 74,000 miles on it, gonna go take a look tomorrow. Please share your opinions on this specific model so I can gain some knowledge about this car.

Thanks.

If you can , stick with an 06 and up , the updates are done . If you can't then make sure all the updates are done on the 04. I think thats quite a bit of milage that 04 has . Shop around a bit you might find something with less miles.

By the way welcome ..............

My opinion:

Leave your home.
Go to the dealer.
Sign the papers.
Drive home in your new "8".
The End.

make sure all recalls have been done, make sure nothing is wrong with it.....but yeah try lookin around some more, as the 8 goes down in value you might be able to find a good deal elsewhere

Have had an '04 8 for about 7-8 mo. now and have had zero problems so far. Granted I bought mine with <20K miles, so big difference there. I have been needing to find out if all updates/recalls have been done to my car, can anyone share the easiest way to do this?

Thanks for education swoope, hilarious buddy

Ok first to you wankelhead....to find out what recalls have been done call your closest dealer and give them your vin and see what they have to the o.p. 74,000 miles is alot for any 04 i have an 04 and just rolled 32,000 but i would continue to look around for one with lower miles. Like everyone said if you go with an 04 then make sure all the recallls were/are done and you shold b fine.

I have an 04 with 80,000 miles.. Just make sure the recalls have been done, and see if it has a new set of plugs, wires, and coils...no leaks.. and you should be fine..
