didn't see the classic 'Introduce Yourself' section on here so apologies if i have missed it!
I'm Dan i've been the happy owner of a 2003 Velocity Red (?) 231 for a couple of weeks now, and spent many a late night browsing these forums, and its been good reading so i have decided to join!
i've got a few ideas for my rex, its a shame i only have a shallow bank account
typically im thinking, bodykit, nice set of wheels, on the cosmetic side and engine upgrades in good time.
i'm looking forward to productively wasting a lot of time on here
Peace

welcome to the addiction...
glad you got to scope out the forums n' not get scared off by some of the shenanigans.
Few Tips:
-use our search function
-for specific questions, look in forums pertaining to it for a possible answer.
-do not rush your modding. It sometimes leads to poor decisions. Other times it leads to not fully appreciating what you have.
-whenever you brag about something you have/did or will do - post pictures otherwise no one will believe you.
btw, post pics of your car otherwise it doesn't exist and you are a liar...
lol - happy revving!

hey guys, not been on for a few days,
just had a new clutch kit fitted as i thought the release bearing was going knackered,no squeaks after changing gear and a nice light clutch still hearing that strange little rattle though?
another question, ive been told the cat of my exhaust system has gone and will cost a lot of money to replace, just wondering if buying an aftermarket catback system will save me spending on the converter itself on the stock exhaust, if i'm going to be upgrading the exhaust in the future. i.e. does an aftermarket exhaust system come with its own cat converter?
i'm in no way mechanically minded by way of cars or an engine! so i apologies if its a stupid question!
and i promised photos, they will be taken soon haha

Hey all, i've not been on here in time!
Start of the world cup i think, bad times!
I'm still yet to pull my finger out and take some pictures of my 8.
Had a full stainless decat system installed a month or so ago and im currently waiting on a set of wheels to turn up at my door.
I'm in a bit of a pickle however with regards to getting any body parts painted, im not confident that the paintwork currently on the car will match the 'fresh' velocity red paint of the new parts (when i buy/get them fitted and sprayed) and i have recieved a large scratch down the passenger side of the car as well as lots and lots of stone chips and tar on the underside of the paint, tiny bit of bubble appearing on the bonnet and about 5 square mm of laquer peel im wondering if it would be worth waiting after i've bought the body parts i wish to fit and have a respray?
all to be decided!
keeping the rear bumper, maybe look at the MS one, desperately searching for an MS spoiler but might have to settle for the R3. Veilside skirts and INGS front is the way im taking the car!!!
i will put photos up one day, i promise ha!
peace

New wheels :d
hey again, just fitted my wheels this morning, decide to do this ahead of a clean but i shall wash her tomorrow, here are some pictures!
i'm also wondering about giving her a drop, im getting a replica ings kit in the near future and wondering how much i could lower it by and to what end, i'm thinking just a set of springs to lower it 40mm.
225/40/18 front tyres
255/35/18 rear tyres
just wondering if 40mm is do-able thats all, ive had the tape measure on it ha but im sure there is more to it!
would be greatful if someone could shed light on any issues i may have with lowering the car by 40mm with the wheels/tyres with rubbing and stuff like that!
cheers folks

I don't intend on rushing it, i'd rather enjoy each mod as I do them, and I'm still getting used to the car. I keep changing my mind on what i want to do to it, at the minute I'm thinking vertex Lang front and sides, undecided on rear, and lenso D1r White 18" wheels with the red trim.

Welcome and reverify the problem, is it the muffler or the CAT?
CAT's go bad muffler should be ok.
CAT BACK mufflers do not come with a catalytic converter.
You need a whole exaust system for that.
